Romans 12:5 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.

Overseer Linster Strayhorn, III is a native North Carolinian. Upon graduating from Jones Senior High, he received a baseball scholarship from Shaw University where he served as captain on the baseball team for two years and received a BA degree in Criminal Justice. Overseer Strayhorn earned a Master of Arts in Ministry with a concentration in Pastoral Care and Counseling from Ohio Christian University in Circleville, Ohio. 

He began his walk of faith to fulfill his life’s purpose, as the under shepherd of United Missionary Baptist Church, within one year of his calling. He has been pastoring now at United Worship Center for 26 years where they are Transition Vision to Movement to spread the gospel.  

He has received several recognitions for his commitment to enhance the lives of others by Mayor Lee Wilson Bettis, Jr. of Craven County, NAACP Award, Spirit of Excellence Award, Allstate Tom Joyner Hardest Working Church Leader Award 2007 and was selected in 2013 as VIP Ambassador for Craven Community College. He currently serves on Craven Community College foundation board.

God recently has joined Apostle Strayhorn and Kimberly Walker together in Holy matrimony.  

He is a devoted, loving father of three children and grandfather of two grandchildren.
